Phoenix health insurance company Banner|Aetna raises money for heart health

In Phoenix, health insurance company Banner|Aetna is committed to making positive changes in health care and the community. As the leading cause of death in Arizona, cardiovascular health remains a critical concern in our community. Banner|Aetna was proud to sponsor the Phoenix Heart Walk on March 25, 2023, which took place in the heart of downtown Phoenix and brought in $1,635,541 to support the American Heart Association’s mission to fight heart disease and stroke. With support from dedicated volunteers and donors, the American Heart Association’s pioneering research, public health campaigns and educational programs are making a tangible impact on the fight against heart disease.

The Heart Walk is particularly meaningful for Phoenix health insurance company CEO Tom Grote, who experienced the loss of his father, brother, and best friend all to heart attacks. Motivated by these experiences, Grote is determined to make a difference in the fight against heart disease and improve health outcomes for everyone.

“Heart health is important for everyone and no matter what physical activity you choose, it’s a common cause we can come together for.” Last year, Grote served as the chair of the 2022 Phoenix Heart Walk and was named the 2022 American Heart Association Executive Volunteer of the Year by the Phoenix American Heart Association.
